The King of Glory — Reigns Forevermore
"Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in." Psalms 24:7
Who is this King of glory? He is the LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory who rules over all creation with His heavenly armies.
Journey’s new art work, The King of Glory, hand-painted by co-founder, Sharon Peterson, is an impressionistic representation of what started as a uplifted crown of glory that transformed into a mirrored crown of thorns.
The two unified crowns embody the death, resurrection and return of Christ — The King of Glory.
Through His death — Jesus became the Perfect and Final Sacrifice for our sins and fulfilled the Law — once and for all. With Christ as the Final Sacrifice for our sins, by faith through grace, our sins are completely forgiven — past, present and future. Jesus holds all authority to forgive sins; no further sacrifice for sin is necessary.
Through His resurrection — Jesus now sits in the place of honor on the right hand of the throne of God in heaven as our High Priest and Mediator. Jesus is the High Priest forever. Therefore Jesus is able to save forever, completely, perfectly, for eternity those who come to God through Jesus.
In His return — Jesus will be joined together with all believers in unity with Him in the New Jerusalem where Christ’s glory and eternal reign as the King of kings and the Lord of lords is forevermore.
Let us welcome the King of Glory, Jesus Christ, to reign in our hearts and live forevermore.
